A highlight of the tour will be a full day river trip through unspoilt lowland rainforest where live at least eight possible kingfishers and ten species of parrot. The huge, specular and rare Southern-crowned Pigeon can also be found here.

Please note that there may be no evening flight to your chosen destination and an extra overnight in Port Moresby may be required.

Tour Accommodation

Accommodation throughout is in comfortable western style hotels with private bathrooms.

Participants need to be in good health and have a reasonable level of fitness. Although this is a short tour you will be visiting a variety of habitats and you should expect some rough walking along fairly steep and muddy trails. The road trip between Kiunga and Tabubil is winding and bumpy.

Expect rain somewhere along the way and in these lowland areas it can be hot and humid at all times of the year.
