We offer you a chance to photograph some of the spectacular and colourful birds of Sulawesi with a special emphasis on kingfishers. We have deliberately limited the itinerary to the areas affording us the best photographic opportunities and your guide, himself a keen photographer, will help you make the most of them.

Arrive in Manado, meet with guide and transfer to hotel. Balance of day birding around Manado.
Days 2 - 5
Tangkoko are birding
Four full days in Tangkoko a great site for Lilac-cheeked, Green-backed, Sulawesi Dwarf, Great-billed, Ruddy, Collared and Scaly-breasted Kingfishers.
A full supporting cast of pigeons, owls and parrots as well as some great mammals including the incredible Bear Cuscus.
Tangkoko to Tomohon
Transfer by road from Tangkoko to Tomohon. Birding the Tomahon (Mt Mahawu) area. This offers us further great opportunities for photographs. This is one of the best sites for Scaly-breasted Kingfisher.
Tomohon area birding
Full day in the Tomohon area.
Return to Manado & onward flight
Return to Manado in time for your afternoon flight out.
Manado and Tomohon have good western style hotels,. Tangkoko is clean but very basic wooden chalets with only cold showers.
The difficultly level of this tour is moderate. Expect heat and humidity as well as some walking on rough tracks.
