This 15 day tour is a great chance to see some of the rarest birds in the world and visit the cultural masterpieces of Angkor. We visit the grasslands at Kompomng Thom to look for the Bengal Floricans and migrant warblers before heading over to Kratie on the Mekong River where a boat trip to see the Irrawaddy River Dolphins and the Mekong Wagtail can be a highlight. Our final destination is Mondulkiri where it is still possible to see some large mammals. It is worth spending a couple of extra days in Phnom Penh to visit the Killing Fields and the genocide museum. A short, less arduous itinerary would miss out both the northern Wood Duck and Vulture section and Mondulkiri.

The main tour is not difficult and participants need to be only of a reasonable standard of fitness. Roads away from the main through routes can be rather uneven and there is one long journey by boat where there is no toilet for a few hours. If you have back problems it may be wise to omit the White-winged Duck as you need to be prepared for a several hour drive over extremely poor roads.
